Pensions in Argentina rise 1.66% starting October 2026
The social security agency of Argentina, known as ANSES, made official a 1.66% increase for pensions and family benefits paid in October 2026. The figure is in resolution 284/2026, published on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in the Official Gazette.
The 1.66% is the automatic adjustment made every month. It uses the inflation, which is the general rise of prices, from the month before. In this case it used the inflation of August 2026, which was 1.7%.
The increase covers pensions and family benefits. It also covers the PBU, the Universal Basic Benefit, a base part of the pension calculation. And it covers the PUAM, the Universal Pension for Older Adults, paid to people aged 65 or older who do not meet the rules for a common pension.

The guaranteed minimum benefit is the lowest pension a person can receive. From October it will be 435,748.51 Argentine pesos. That amount covers little more than the rent of a small apartment in a large city in the country. Many retired people use that money every month to pay for food, services and rent at the same time.
That is why the bonus matters for retired people. The government has paid an extra pension bonus of 70,000 pesos since 2024 to those who receive less. That bonus for October still needs to be made official: it is pending and does not appear in the published resolution.
